| Anna Paquin, a New Zealand-Canadian film actress and performer, is well known for roles such as The PianoFly Away from Home as well as X-Men. She entered the world of acting when she was 11 when she appeared in The Piano for which she was awarded the Oscar Award for best actress as a support role. However, her fate was not as planned. After her breakthrough in her debut film she was offered numerous roles, which she declined in order to focus on her studies. But at fourteen she entered the film industry by accepting parts in Jane Eyre as well as Fly Away Home.In 2000 she played the formidable mutant Roguein The X-Men, the first film in the X-Menfilms series. This character ushered her into global fame.
